Message jzx hit on a couple good points. You can get an 18" wheel with a lower than stock profile tire that will sit equal or not far above stock. He also makes a good point about the design of the sp1, they really will look tiny.

IMO the professor SP1 is one of the best looking wheels out there, but size and stance is everything. I can tell you right now, if you bought those wheels in 16" (probably even 17") people will look at the car and say "Why?" and if they find out that you ordered them new in that size, they'll laugh. Take into consideration the overall diameter of tire/wheel - you can retain your ride height with the right size tire (and it won't have to be a rubber band either).

Worst case scenario - you have to buy lowering springs like I chose to. Makes the car look 1000x better, and I scored mine for $100. A camber kit is $80, and easy to install. So for an extra $180 and the choice of 18's, you can REALLY make the car look amazing. The fact that it is a daily driver is absolutely irrelevant. Mine is too, so are the other 2 z's in our garage that are lowered with 18's. They drive fine, they ride very well, don't rub, and don't bottom out (unless I'm careless).

and to use an image you've already seen - and to state - this car has 18's (18x9 front, 18x10 rear). Shop wisely
